Candle Care Page
your first burn
● candles have “memories”, so the first burn will determine the rest of its life
● allow 2-3h for wax to melt all the way to the edge of the tin, otherwise “tunneling” would happen and you don’t want that!
the wooden wick
● make sure to keep it trimmed at ¼” for best burn results
● you may use a wick trimmer or simply use your fingers to break off the black bits on top - nail clippers can work like a charm too :)
tunneling
● tunneling happens when the candle burns down its center, creating a "tunnel"
● wrap aluminum foil around the candle and allow it to burn for 2h to reset the its “memory”, scrape the wax around the edge with a knife if needed
● if the wick is drowning, use paper towel to soak up the wax
burn time & other tips:
● burn ~2h each time but not more then 4h at the time!
● never leave it unattended and light it away from anything flammable
● woodwick can be tricky but worth it! Essentially, it’s like a mini fireplace, so it might take a few tries to get it going
